[ It did give her a good laugh to hear about it. ]
Let's see... First, they're not called traitors, obviously. They're called caporegimes, Hamelin's right-hand men. We have never had traitors among us. And it would be silly to consider them such because - [ She tilts her head in consideration. ] - well, as you can see, they still are bound by the same rules during trial. What good would it have been to actively work against us all, if at the end, there's the same dungeon and execution to wait for.
Jack and McGillis were never safe from being targeted each week either. Because of their roles, the condition for their wishes are different. They don’t need to kill to have their wishes granted; their wishes are not contingent upon committing murder - unless no one else decides to kill that week. Think, Tenn, on what it means that it has taken this long for that to happen? That on our own, we wiped out over half of our numbers - and then tell me the fervent desire to hunt them down or execute them in our place was justified.
They are both bad men, but no one here is innocent.
You're right, no one is innocent. That's why I pulled Makoto away when he tried to go for Jack-san. I had this conversation with someone rather recently, actually, that none of us are free of guilt and bloodshed.
[ A beat. ]
But there was no way for us to know that, because Hamelin hasn't told us much. So please understand why the rest of us assumed the worst of them, Yuri-san. We had nothing to work off of other than the information we found on our own.
Yes... We are going to need everyone to cooperate with each other, to think before they judge, so we can get through this. I believe we can.
I found out recently that rather a game, the entirety of this has been a ritual. I don’t know anything more than that, but it doesn’t surprise me, considering the creature that looks to consume us.
Not Red, no. It was one of the fairies, actually. They were very, very adamant about me keeping this a secret so Hamelin wouldn't find out, but I'm pretty sure he knows by now.
Ferry-san in particular said they were working against Hamelin, and they were the one providing me with information on Jack-san and McGillis-san. They're also the one sending my notes to the deceased, and vice-versa. I think they're afraid of getting caught.
[ ... ]
The information they've provided wasn't wrong, in the end.
Well... I guess I'm curious about what the agents' involvement in all of this was, anyway. They didn't seem to really interfere in anything; all I was told regarding their motivations was that their objective was to keep the game going.
They... oversee the game, but they only know what Hamelin knows. He can tell them a little more than he tells us, but they are not privy to who kills each week.
From what I can gather... [ She actually sighs here because it’s kind of annoying!! ] - their most prominent contribution is helping Hamelin compose the afflictions at the start of each week.
[ Would Riku still welcome her - after what happened yesterday? Hm. ]
You know I love Hamelin, Tenn. I can’t let him spend forever playing the villain against his will. And if he has to, if that’s the price he has to pay to save us, I can’t let him do that alone.

[ No traitors, but he didn’t have another name for them at the time. ]
Do you think Hamelin will really go through with executing Jack-san?
no subject
[ Immediate. Rules are rules. ]
But I know he will save him, too. Whatever that means, I hope... it will be a good thing for our friends on the other side as well.
no subject
We'll save them. I trust that we'll all emerge out of this alive.
no subject
We must. We must.

[ Besides, he’d been painted the villain from the start. ]
I’m glad you kept Lord Makoto away. Hamelin would have killed him for touching his famiglia.

[ we stan yuri in this house okok!! ]
I'm glad nobody decided to do anything stupid, in the end. It really is a blessing that all of us are still here.

no subject
[ That's a promise.
The ritual part, however, makes him shudder a little. ]
...Great. Maybe that explains why the bodies were being crystalized...
no subject
[ And Hamelin won’t help if harm comes to Yuri or McGillis. And if anything happens to Jack on the other side... ]
Maybe so. May I ask you something? Who gave you your role? Was it also Red?
no subject
Not Red, no. It was one of the fairies, actually. They were very, very adamant about me keeping this a secret so Hamelin wouldn't find out, but I'm pretty sure he knows by now.

But are the fairies not fond of him? Then again, fae folk have ever been mischievous and contrary.

[ Something about all that just doesn’t... fit. ]
And they were the one who labeled them traitors in the first place?
no subject
[ ...COCO IS A MORON, NEWS AT 10 😂 ]
I don't really remember, to be honest.
no subject
That’s fine. We still have time to make sense of it all.
[ Maybe never mind the meta text earlier, maybe not!! ]
Do you have any questions for me, so far?
no subject

Jack-san's a musician, so that makes sense. ... Is McGillis-san one, too?
no subject
Um... I don’t know if it has anything to do with being a musician.
[ Maybe more to do with watching them struggle to even walk properly and having a good laugh about it. Sigh! Villains. ]
no subject
[ NO MORE TENNCARE FOR YOU, MCGILLIS -- ]
Incredible.

[ The creature that runs this place, a way to steer the ritual into completion... ]
I wonder if we will have another song next week, but I doubt it... I think we are truly near the end at last.
no subject
But it does feel like we're near the end, doesn't it?
[ ... ]
I'm glad you're still here, you know. And my offer to you still stands -- the one about going home with Riku and I.
