I hope that you can break free of the chains that have been holding you down, and I hope that creature doesn't reach out to grab you again.
Even if it does, though... I'm glad you were able to meet people who accepted you as you are. You haven't walked an easy path, but your strength and perseverance have been commendable. So, for your sake, I hope that Hamelin is able to help you get away from all of that.
[ She glances at his covered mirror, frowns a little, then leans in to whisper in his ear. Her voice nearly soundless. ]
Beware of what your eyes perceive. She can turn her ragdolls into people you care about. I know not what it is you desire, but she knows it full well and will exploit the cracks in your heart. Her power... lies in button eyes.
I'm in a group called TRIGGER, and there are three of us in it. Myself, Yaotome Gaku, and Tsunashi Ryunosuke. Gaku...he's hot-headed and really stubborn, but he's a very earnest person. Ryuu is kind and has a good heart. Gaku and Ryuu are misunderstood, though, because people see them in a certain way and don't realize they're the complete opposite of what their images suggest.
[ He misses them a lot, and there's a lot of fondness that leaks through his voice. It's definitely a common theme with TRIGGER, though -- being seen one way and actually being someone entirely different. Tenn counts. ]
I'd consider them my closest friends, back at home.
No, I didn't. The idol industry is a little different than what you're probably used to.
Agencies recruit people who have potential, and you go through an audition process. Once that process is done, they place you into a group with other people. I didn't even know Gaku and Ryuu up until they put me with TRIGGER.
[ Yeah. It's...interesting, to say the least? ]
I started formally training under a man named Kujo Takamasa when I was thirteen.
It’s infectious, I would say. The same kind of warmth you feel when you stumble across a long-forgotten childhood toy. “Ah, there you are. I had forgotten joy could feel this wondrous.” Like that.
Do you remember when you talked about Yuri Elizabeth? Someone who was graceful, humble and kind, forgiving, inspiring. That's close to who I am on stage. They call me the "People's Angel" back at home, because of how I present myself to my fans. To them, I'm innocent and untouchable, gentle and fragile. Perfect.
[ His expression is even, just like his tone. He doesn't sound bothered by this at all. ]
I don't mind it, though. As long as it makes them happy, I don't mind that they don't get to know the real me. I'd rather keep them at arm's length anyway, because it's my job to bring them the entertainment and inspiration they desire. They don't need to know about my personal life to be happy.
Whenever I think that I'm tired, I think about how it pales in comparison to how tired they are. When I think I'm busy, I think about how busy they are and how they still made time to support me in my career. So...as long as I can make them happy, I don't care about putting on a different face in front of them.
[ ...As he says this, though, he can't help but frown a little. ]
I don't plan on changing that anytime soon, but... Being able to act in an honest manner here has been a relief, too.
[ She blinks when he says fragile. Yes, that is definitely not the Tenn she knows. ]
It seems to me that you’ve properly defined and separated the two. That there isn’t a chance yet you’ll end up being confused about who the real Tenn is. That is not to say Tenn Kujo on stage is fake; rather, the hope and warm in him is real as anything and he merely presents himself as an exaggerated ideal. The honest Tenn is not lesser by any means.
As long as you continue to understand why he is necessary, I don’t believe you’ll lose yourself. The two of you can share the same space - a job should not last all hours of the day, no?

Tenn looks at the mirror as Yuri says this, wrinkles his nose, and then looks at Yuri with a nod.
Just as quietly: ]
I won't let that happen to me. I know Riku would be upset if I mistook a phony for his real self.

Trust the strength of your heart. Hm. I think that's everything? Anything else, we can probably bring up with the others at a later time.
[ Unless there's anything else he wants to tell her in private. ]

[ He's glad he gets a head's up, at least, because that sure is a warning alright.
But...since she's here, he looks at her a little more thoughtfully. ]
Since you've told me so much about yourself, Yuri-san, if there's anything you want to know about me, you can ask.

I'd like to know anything. Will you tell me about... your friends at home?

I remember hearing that you train for years and years. Did you train with them growing up?

Kujo... Not your lord father?
[ Isn’t that Tenn’s family name? ]

[ He shakes his head. ]
I used to be part of Riku's. Nanase Tenn.

[ blink blink. He is so used to being called out for being a jerk at home, so this is surprising! ]
In what way?

[ He is bamboozled. Yuri, you've managed to embarrass him!! He kind of clears his throat, then: ]
Well... It. Does help to hear that.
[ ... ]
It's nice to know that I can make you feel that way by being myself. Not the person I am on stage.

I don't think I've ever really met the person you are on stage. But I'm not sure it would make any difference to me.
