[ Oh - that's endearing. Yuri looks like she wants to reach out and brush his hair down with her fingers, just a little. It's an aborted motion. She's not sure he'd welcome that - after everything. Still, she steps inside with a nod. ]

I'm sorry to bother you; I know you must be tired. May we talk?

[ She takes a seat on his bed and pats the space next to her. ]

Am I... Are you? I don't think either of us expected - any of that. At least in the way it played out.

I'm glad you didn't - Tenn, think of what would happen if you had gotten hurt! [ She is very serious about this. He's not allowed to get hurt. ] I was fine... The others, they're kind, they wouldn't have attacked me.

And I know Jack isn't a good man - but. The things we have to do to go against that creature in this place of murder - it was never going to be easy.

I can, I think, finally tell you all that I know.

[ Well, now that they're here, she reaches out to finally brush those flyaway tufts of his, sounding distracted as she does so. ]

After all, Lady Edelgard is right. [ Her fingers falter here. What does Edelgard think about her now? She needs to... she needs to talk to her, too. ] All information is important; the more we know, the more it'll help. But do remember, Tenn, I'm not told anything directly either. There are rules, after all.

[ A little laugh. ]

He said you gave him a headache about it.

[ It did give her a good laugh to hear about it. ]

Let's see... First, they're not called traitors, obviously. They're called caporegimes, Hamelin's right-hand men. We have never had traitors among us. And it would be silly to consider them such because - [ She tilts her head in consideration. ] - well, as you can see, they still are bound by the same rules during trial. What good would it have been to actively work against us all, if at the end, there's the same dungeon and execution to wait for.

Yes.

[ Immediate. Rules are rules. ]

But I know he will save him, too. Whatever that means, I hope... it will be a good thing for our friends on the other side as well.

[ She nods. ]

We must. We must.

[ ... ]

Jack and McGillis were never safe from being targeted each week either. Because of their roles, the condition for their wishes are different. They don’t need to kill to have their wishes granted; their wishes are not contingent upon committing murder - unless no one else decides to kill that week. Think, Tenn, on what it means that it has taken this long for that to happen? That on our own, we wiped out over half of our numbers - and then tell me the fervent desire to hunt them down or execute them in our place was justified.

They are both bad men, but no one here is innocent.

He can’t tell us anything outright. Direct questions will not get us anywhere with him.

[ Besides, he’d been painted the villain from the start. ]

I’m glad you kept Lord Makoto away. Hamelin would have killed him for touching his famiglia.

Yes... We are going to need everyone to cooperate with each other, to think before they judge, so we can get through this. I believe we can.

I found out recently that rather a game, the entirety of this has been a ritual. I don’t know anything more than that, but it doesn’t surprise me, considering the creature that looks to consume us.

I think they know better than that. Now is not the time. We cannot do this without Hamelin.

[ And Hamelin won’t help if harm comes to Yuri or McGillis. And if anything happens to Jack on the other side... ]

Maybe so. May I ask you something? Who gave you your role? Was it also Red?

[ That... doesn’t make much sense to her. ]

But are the fairies not fond of him? Then again, fae folk have ever been mischievous and contrary.

No, they weren’t wrong.

[ Something about all that just doesn’t... fit. ]

And they were the one who labeled them traitors in the first place?
