Phil and I set a trap to alert us if anyone left our room last Thursday when he and Yuri were staying with us. It was untouched, but that doesn't mean much of anything other than that neither one of them had a hand in the murder itself.

Hamelin had a list in his office. The names on that list were: Edelgard, Raven-san, Lucifer-san, Wei Wuxian, Adora, and myself. One of the dead confirmed that this was a list of people who would be least likely to work for him without any form of blackmail.

The traitors didn’t need to be coerced. I’ve also been told to keep my role a secret so Hamelin doesn’t find out…

But I don’t think they’re the callous people we assume they are. Hamelin could have presented the role to them in a way that may have seemed more appealing to them than it actually is.

Interesting. I imagine his reasoning for Raven is because Raven was working for the Commandant. At the very least, he would have been aware of Raven's involvement with Hamelin, even if he didn't act on it.

[He can guess at the rest as the sort who wouldn't be willing to work for Hamelin regardless of what he threatened, but...]

I imagine he offered them something to get their cooperation, but we don't really have any way to determine what that is.
